  • 1 blue 4 inch square
  • 2 white 4 x 2 1/4 inch strips
  • 2 white 7 1/2 x 2 1/4 inch strip
  • 2 blue 7 1/2 x 2 1/4 inch strips
  • 2 blue x 2 1/4 inch strips

Block 2

  • 1 white 4 inch square
  • 2 green 7 1/2 x 2 1/4 inch strip
  • 2 green 4 x 2 1/4 inch strip

I can recommend using a 60 degree ruler if you plan making a full quilt.

How to Quilt-as-you-go (QAYG) – narrow sashing

The finished sashing width for this project is 1/2 inch but it can be adjusted to a wider or narrower sashing. Learn the  technique in under 3 minutes:

Materials

For the block sandwich

  • A piece of backing fabric the same size as the block
  • A piece of batting 1 inch larger than the block
  • One finished block

For the sashing

  • One strip of sashing fabric 1 1/8 inch x the length of the block side
  • 1 strip of sashing fabric 1 3/4 inch x the length of the block side
