My book Turnabout Patchwork

“Turnabout Patchwork. Simple quilts with a twist” is all about playing with blocks – making a block, slicing it up, and turning or repositioning the pieces to make a completely different block (sometimes two smaller blocks) to yield endless quilt tops.

Two blocks that start as half square triangles (HSTs)

These two blocks start with a half square triangle.

Quick and easy and always beautiful.

You can make them in coordinated fabric or scrappy.

Two versatile quilt blocks: Coil and Cracker

I love blocks that aren’t symmetric because you get a lot of possible designs out of them.

Nine patch quilt block with sashing

Not quite a disappearing nine patch block though it’s sliced in the same way.

This easy block looks a bit more complicated than it is by just adding two fine strips.
