Based on Easter basket sewing and fabric basket tutorial.
- fabric scraps
- 2 buttons
- 1 pom pom
- fusible interfacing
Follow the fabric basket tutorial to make up the patchwork basket and handles.
My basket has only one handle. My handle is made out of one strip of fabric measuring 2 1/2 in x 9 in and has fusible interfacing.
After assembling the patchwork and sewing the basket, add the embroidery.
If adding a bunny’s tail, stitch now.
I drew my own ears but you can download ears and embroidery pattern(pdf) from disdressed.
You will need 2 pieces of fusible interfacing, 2 of facing fabric and 2 of back fabric.
Iron the fusible interfacing to the wrong side of the front fabric. Sew around ears with both fabrics right fabric facing together. Leave bottom opening to turn inside out.
Attach ears to basket as per photo below. Sew handle in the same way.
Sew the lining following fabric basket tutorial.
- Scrap fabric
- Little ornaments
- Felt shapes
- Felt for the pocket
- Organza bag
Make the front of the cushion using the wonky log cabin tutorial by Tallgrass Prairie Studio. The resulting block is 9 x 9 inches.
Then follow my tooth fairy pillow tutorial.
Add any embellishment you like.
The flower is made out of die cut felt shapes with some beads stitched to the petals and a felt covered button for the centre.
Use a pre-made organza bag matching the dominant colour.
I used a heart shaped pocket for this pillow.
Easy to make and always a success with the kids.
New bunting for a girl. I used my own bunting tutorial.
Another quilted tea cozy made following my tea cozy tutorial from last week.
I used ribbon, felt die cuts and a small border to embellish the cozy.
