Announcing my book “Turnabout patchwork. Simple quilts with a twist”

Today, I’m excited to announce the coming release of my new book Turnabout Patchwork. Simple quilts with a twist.  It’s all about playing with blocks – making a block, slicing it up, and turning or repositioning the pieces to make a completely different block (sometimes two smaller blocks) to yield endless quilt tops.

The book was officially released on 3 December 2018.

You can order on Amazon. Or check with your local shop.

I’d like to thank all of you – my wonderful blog and social media followers, and the whole quilting community. You are all so generous with your time and feedback about my quilts and techniques.

And thanks to Martingale for their confidence in the project and subsequent encouragement throughout the whole process from concept to the final product.

This block belongs to a popular quilt: Dear Jane.  It’s block C09.

The template is a free PDF download from Susan Gatewood’s site.

Susan’s Dear Jane templates are free though she says “I only ask that you consider making a donation to the Bennington Museum, in Bennington, Vermont. And if you do, it would make me tremendously happy if you would tell them that you have received help from me.” I totally recommend Susan’s patterns as they are very professional and easy to use.

There’re many ways to quilt-as-you-go. This is one of them. It’s also a block to use all those fabric scraps left over from other projects.

I love this technique. It reminds me of a delectable mountains or buzz saw block.
