Wonky log cabin video tutorial

Wonky log cabin quilt block

This is an improv or wonky log cabin block. I really love this technique. No sizes, just total freedom to cut where you see fit.

How to make a wonky log cabin quilt block

This block is perfect for layer cakes.

My book Turnabout Patchwork

“Turnabout Patchwork. Simple quilts with a twist” is all about playing with blocks – making a block, slicing it up, and turning or repositioning the pieces to make a completely different block (sometimes two smaller blocks) to yield endless quilt tops.

  1. Hi, I’m using your method of sashing to Join a quilt I’m making. Once they are joined from sided to side, is there a method to joining the finished lengths together?
