Disappearing 9 patch quilt block

This is a quick and easy block that looks a lot more complicated than it is. It’s also perfect for 5″ squares also called charm squares.

I made a quilt using this block in 2010.

My book Turnabout Patchwork

“Turnabout Patchwork. Simple quilts with a twist” is all about playing with blocks – making a block, slicing it up, and turning or repositioning the pieces to make a completely different block (sometimes two smaller blocks) to yield endless quilt tops.

  4. If the square doesn’t measure 1 inch then go to your printer settings and make sure it’s printing ay 100%. Often printers scale the pages. Usually before printing you’ll get a pop up where you’ll see the scaling.
