Striped fabric is awesome. Do you agree?
I love the minimalist look of my Shells quilt. You can make this quilt in a weekend easily.
Sometimes you only need to use half square triangles and use the fabric print to do most of the work. Stripes are great for this. Chunky stripes look great but finer stripes are great too.

I like the Shells layout. It reminds me of summer holidays with our Grandparents in Kerry. We brought back our collection of seashells to our landlocked village and used them to decorate boxes, old jam jars and empty bottles.

I bought my first striped fabric last week, from a charity shop. It is a very light blue on white but the stripes are fairly thick. Looks like someone cut up a crib sheet for some reason. I would like to use it in a border or maybe lattices similar to the red striped fabric shown. I have a few projects to finish before I get to that one so I pinned your post.

I love the childhood memories that came to my mind when I saw the pattern. I grew up living on Long Island between the Ocean and the bay. My father was from Bretagne and when I saw this pattern and name it made me feel like I could feel the spray of the ocean and of collecting shells as a child.

I really enjoy the X’s and O’s pillow Piccolo Studio made. Stripes or not, that pattern is so playful! The way she made it with the soft stripe (a barely there print) and a bold floral just had me floored. The contrast is glorious. Oh, I want that pattern so badly now!
