Block type: 4-patch
Block size: 10 1/2 inches
Colour scheme: reds, greens and neutrals
Texture/fabric manipulation: pin tucks in two colours
- 2 floral 5 1/2 in squares
- 3 pale green 1 1/2 x 6 in strips
- 3 cream 2 3/4 x 6 in strips
- 1 pale green 6 in square
Making the pin tucks in two colours
Now make a mark 1/2 in on each cream strip 1/4 in from the green strip on both sides (see picture).
Iron on the marked line. This will make the pin tuck.
Stitch the tuck 1/4 in from the marked line.
Now mark along the centre, ie 3 inches from the side.
Stitch along the centre.
Now press the tucks towards the opposite side as per picture.
Stitch 1/4 in from the edge.
Now square the piece to 6 in square.
Take the cream piece and draw a line on the diagonal.
Pin to the pin tuck piece right face together.
Now stitch 1/4 in from the centre line on each side.
Cut through the marked line.
Place pieces as per picture.
The block is finished.

Each block is a 4-patch block in greens and reds. The fabric manipulation is made in a cream fabric.
